Immortal, Game-O-Gami’s strategy game of warring mythologies, successfully funded on Kickstarter and is now in pre-production for its 2016 release! Now we have launched a new Kickstarter project to expand Immortal with 2 new pantheon factions, adding the Egyptians and Celtics to EVERY COPY of the game! This is a short, 2-week project, ending on October 8th.

Immortal - a strategy game of warring mythologies

If this “stretch goal” project is successful, we’ll be able to add 36 new unique characters inspired by Egyptian and Celtic mythology, along with their amazing artwork and new special abilities, to the board game before it goes to print. With your help, we will be able to pack 50% more cards, artwork, and gameplay into Immortal’s debut release.

You can back Immortal now to get all 6 factions and the limited edition card packs!

We are also creating a new deck of custom Playing Cards, featuring Immortal’s beautiful artwork on every card (54 unique characters!) Unlike most custom playing card decks, which only illustrate the face cards, every card in the Immortal Playing Card Deck will be illustrated with a fascinating character from world mythology.

All new artwork created for this project will also be added to the Deluxe Edition of Immortal – An Art Book of Myths and Legends from around the World, which you can also get from the current Kickstarter project as an add-on reward.

Immortal - Mythology Playing Cards

The Immortal Playing Cards deck is an awe-inspiring work of art for collectors of custom playing cards and lovers of world mythology.

Your favorite myths are being brought to life through these stunning cards – painted by talented and trending fantasy concept artists, including Xia Taptara, Milek Jakubiec, Monika Palosz, Grant Griffard, Kian Ng, and David Sanhueza.

Every one of the 54 cards will feature a unique illustration of a god, goddess, hero, or monster from the myths and legends of four distinct cultures: ancient Norse, Greek, Japanese, and Egyptian.

Immortal - Mythology Playing Cards

Thank you for backing this Kickstarter project for the board game and/or the playing cards, today! Your pledge dollars go towards helping indie artists make our dream projects for you to enjoy. The Kickstarter project for the Egyptians, Celtics, and Playing Cards will run until Thursday, October 8th.

And in related news…

Game-O-Gami and All Us Geeks are teaming up to offer a giveaway contest for 1 copy of Immortal: Master Set One when it releases in 2016.

The contest is running right now, until October 6th, and is open to geeks in the US, Canada, UK, France, and Germany. You can find the details of this contest, and enter, at All Us Geeks.

Immortal: Master Set One

Immortal is currently on Kickstarter, funding until October 8th.

Game-O-Gami is proud to announce a new game in development:

Blood of Rome (3-4 players, 60-90 minutes) is a board game of gothic horror in ancient Rome. Rome will burn, Rome will bleed…

Blood of Rome - board game - cover art

In Blood of Rome, supernatural factions fight a secret war in the streets and catacombs of the ancient city. Vampires, Werewolves, Gargoyles, Witches, and Slayers form alliances and vendettas in their conflict over the soul of the empire. Each player secretly belongs to one of the five Factions, with the goal of gaining the most victory points for their faction. They can achieve this goal by helping their faction’s Agents occupy the most Locations on the City Board, and by slaying the agents of other factions with which they have a Vendetta, adding those agents as points to their Catacomb.

Players take turns placing cards from their hands onto the limited slots of each location on the board. Each card belongs to a different faction, and has special abilities which can: add new agents to a location, transform agents from one faction into another, slay agents, trigger a combat vote, acquire new cards, and more. Any player can play a card from any faction on their turn, thereby manipulating their enemies into doing their dirty work for them. A Calendar of Auguries tracks the cycles of the sun and moon, triggering additional special abilities on the cards, depending on when they are played.

Blood of Rome - board game - sample cards

The game is being designed by David Luis Sanhueza, featuring art by Milek Jakubiec (whose amazing work has already been seen in “Immortal“.) Blood of Rome is still in the design process, and expected to make an appearance on Kickstarter in early 2018.

Additional information about Blood of Rome is available in the official press release, and on BoardGameGeek.

Blood of Rome’s factions include:

Wolves of Romulus – the Werewolves – A pack of shapeshifters, descended from Rome’s founders, who have secretly entrenched themselves among the city’s military elite. Strongest when the moon is full, their cunning political manipulations are enforced with feral ferocity. Long ago, the Werewolves were entrusted with defending the city from outside threats. But over time, they have become corrupted and paranoid about internal threats to their power.

Sisters of Hecate – the Witches – A coven of priestesses who draw magical power from worshiping the old gods. They are based in the temples of Rome, representing the city’s religious elite. Until recently, they had a peace treaty with the Werewolves going back hundreds of years, ruling the city together from the shadows. But ancient rivalries have finally sparked the flames of all out war. The Sisterhood’s power is also threatened by the Chosen Ones and their strange new religion, which is spreading like wild-fire among Rome’s slaves and commoners.

Gorgon Sentinels – the Gargoyles – Ancient creatures who have slumbered for centuries under a witch’s curse. Once, they acted as neutral arbiters between the Werewolves and the Witches, enforcing the peace in Rome through their nightly vigil. But they were betrayed when those two factions grew resentful of the Gargoyles’ interference in their schemes. Now that the curse’s power is broken, the Gorgon Sentinels have awoken to restore order to Rome at any cost… even if that means killing every other thing inhabiting the city.

Carpathian Horde – the Vampires – An invading horde of undead barbarians from the east, who have come to drain Rome of every drop of blood. These ravenous revenants raid the lands outside the city’s walls, preying upon anyone foolish enough to try to leave or enter Rome at night. Those vampires which have infiltrated the city stalk its catacombs during the day, and rise to the streets to feed from dusk till dawn. Their blood curse can spread to anyone, making them a threat to all other factions in Rome.

Chosen Ones – the Slayers – Christian slaves and gladiators who have risen up against the oppressive tyranny of their supernatural masters. Fanatical physical training and unwavering faith give them the strength to battle these nightmare creatures. Their new religion has spread rapidly among Rome’s poor, who turn to the Chosen Ones for protection. They have sworn to purge the monsters from Rome, cleansing the city of its sins with fire and blood.

More information and images for the game will be revealed in time. Until then, if you’re interested in the game, you can go to BGG to give a thumb’s up to the cover art or become a fan / subscribe. Happy gaming!

Game-O-Gami is excited to announce our latest project! Immortal – An Art Book of Myths and Legends from around the World is now on Kickstarter, where you can order your copy of the Standard Edition book, or the signed and dedicated Deluxe Edition.
Immortal Art Book of Myths and Legends on Kickstarter

Immortal – An Art Book of Myths and Legends from around the World – is a book project featuring full-page illustrations of mythological gods, heroes, and monsters from various world cultures. This artwork is being created by talented and trending fantasy concept artists, including Xia Taptara, Monika Palosz, Kian Ng, Grant Griffard, Milek Jakubiec, and David Sanhueza. Accompanying these breath-taking illustrations are the myths which inspired them, interpreted and written by David Sanhueza.

game-o-gami_Immortal_Book_Kickstarter_Pages_3D_04_BIG

The goal of the art direction for Immortal is to combine high fantasy concepts with an impressionistic style, based on loose brushstrokes and moody, realistic light and colors. Somewhat like a mix between the styles of the late masters Frank Frazetta and John Singer Sargent. The ancient myths that this book has drawn inspiration from are often dark and dangerous… and so the artwork has been created to capture that dark and dangerous atmosphere.

We are really excited to share this project with other mythology buffs and lovers of great artwork! By pledging your support, you can make this unique book a reality. You can help us share this amazing project with an even wider audience, through word of mouth, and by supporting our social media campaign on Facebook.

This is just a 2-week crowdfunding campaign, ending on May 21st. So reserve your copy fast!

Join us for ‪#KickstarterHour on Twitter every Tuesday at 2pm EST (11am PST / 7pm GMT). Wait… “what’s #KickstarterHour”, you ask? Great question!

#KickstarterHour is a weekly community event on Twitter, for discussing Kickstarter projects, trends, opinions, and strategies for creators. The discussions last for one hour each week (so from 2pm to 3pm, EST), involving topics related to Kickstarter specifically and crowd-funding in general, with great questions asked and advice given every Tuesday. Whether you are a Kickstarter project creator, or an enthusiastic Kickstarter backer, you can use the “#KickstarterHour” hashtag in your Tweets to share your thoughts with the crowd-funding community!

Not only is the #KickstarterHour hashtag and weekly discussion a great resource for information and advice on planning Kickstarter projects, it’s also a great place to promote them. Crowd-funding project creators are encouraged to share links to their upcoming or currently running projects during the weekly hour. And since Tuesday is one of the best, if not the best day of the week to launch a Kickstarter campaign, #KickstarterHour falls on the perfect day for newly-launched projects.

#KickstarterHour is new (we’re on our third week), and was inspired by other vibrant Twitter hashtag communities like #BoardGameHour and #IndieDevHour (yes, you should go check them out!) There are also various Kickstarter-related groups on Facebook, which are active with a wealth of knowledge, advice, and opinions pertaining to crowd-funding being discussed every day. #KickstarterHour aspires to be just as useful a resource, all packed into one hour a week.

game-o-gami_KickstarterHour_screenshot

If you find reading and replying to hashtag streams on Twitter to be cumbersome, there’s a great website called “Nurph”, which allows you to connect your Twitter account to join in conversations through a chat room interface. #KickstarterHour already has a chat room on Nurph, just use your Twitter account to log in and join the discussion.

You can also look at upcoming #KickstarterHour chats through Nurph and RSVP there. Our topic for this Tuesday (March 10, 2015) will be: Finding, Building, and Growing your Crowd.

The hosts of #KickstarterHour are @gameogami and @bbshahriari – you can follow and tweet us for more info about getting involved in the discussions, and ask us any questions you might have about the Kickstarter community on Twitter. #KickstarterHour also has its own dedicated Twitter account, @KickstarterHour – which you can follow for news about upcoming discussions, and for retweets of the best content from each week’s discussion.

See You Next Tuesday! (that’s how you spell that, right?)

Hello good people…

The Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! books are on their way! Some of our Kickstarter backers have already received their copies. Many more will be receiving them in the mail, in the next few days. Most will have their books in hand, about a month earlier than we planned.

Now, we’re probably not breaking any Kickstarter records, but I’ve got to believe that finishing early puts us in a pretty exclusive club.  🙂

We’ve got some pictures to share of the Art Book, and the fairy tale postcards which were donated to our project by The Brothers Uber:

The Art of Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! art book, and fairy tale postcards

And thanks to backer Jamie Greene, for giving us permission to post this photo of the Coloring Books that he has already received:

Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule, cool for school coloring books

For the upper-tier Kickstarter pledges ($60 and up), Mike Maihack and I are busy signing Art Books, coloring pages in the Coloring Books, and creating the Art Prints. They will ship out very soon, and most of these backers should be receiving their packages within the next few weeks. After we’ve finished shipping the final physical rewards (in other words: soon), our backers will be receiving the Digital Editions of the books, in PDF format.

In the meantime, we’d love to hear from you when you receive your books. We want to know what you think of them! If you have photos you would like to share with us, even better!!! You can email the photos to us, and just let us know if we have permission to post them on the Kickstarter page, here on Game-O-Gami.com, and/or on our Facebook page. If you post the photos on your own social media, you can share the link with us as well.

We’re excited to hear from you!

– David
