Meet Jonathan Torres. Jonathan is a self taught artist from the USA, with a bright future ahead of him. He is driven and motivated, and has a great attitude towards the creative process. You can see more of Jonathan’s excellent character and environment paintings, in his portfolio.

Below are some of the characters that Jon has illustrated for Immortal: “Nuadha of the silver arm” (Celtic mythology), “Harpies” (Greek mythology), “Tengu” (Japanese mythology), and “Koress” (a special custom card pledged for by one of Immortal’s Kickstarter backers.)

Happy New Year

On behalf of Game-O-Gami, I would like to wish you a Happy New Year, Prospero Año Nuevo, Yoi Otoshi Wo, etc, etc…  2015 has been a big year for Game-O-Gami as indie game developers, and we will be working very hard to make sure that 2016 is even bigger and brighter!

Art Progress

The stretch goal Kickstarter project for Immortal this past October was a success, thanks to our dedicated fans and supporters! Since then, we have been working on the artwork for Immortal‘s two new pantheons (Celtic and Egyptian mythologies), and have made excellent progress. A few new artists have been brought onto the project to help finish the remaining illustrations for the game, art book, and playing cards.

The first of these is Andrei Pervukhin, an extremely talented artist from Russia. Below are a few of the new characters from world mythology that he has contributed to this project: Sobek, Osiris, and Khnum from the Egyptian pantheon, and Great Turtle from the American pantheon.

Andrei really knows how to capture the feel of different environments, and is particularly good at painting water and textures. You can see more of Andrei’s excellent artwork in his portfolio.

The second new illustrator for Immortal is a versatile digital artist from China, who goes by the pen name RING. Below are a few of the character illustrations that he has recently contributed: Amaterasu (Japanese sun goddess), the Banshee (Celtic harbinger of death), Hathor (Egyptian goddess of love and motherhood), and Spider Grandmother (American creation spirit).

His brush and color techniques are really impressive, as is his ability to quickly grasp and sketch out a concept. You can see more examples of his skills in his portfolio.

If your eyes are hungry for more of the deluxe artwork that we are creating for Immortal, you can visit our gallery page.

If you or your friends would like to own this game, you can pre-order Immortal: Master Set One, the add-on card packs, the standard edition art book, and the mythology playing cards on our store page.

Immortal is due to be delivered to Kickstarter backers and Pre-Order customers in spring 2017, and then released to retail stores shortly after.

We will be sharing more of the artwork and game design previews that we have been working on for Immortal, as we build up to our mid-year release of the board game. Once again, Happy New Year!

Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! cover image

We have an exciting announcement to make… drum-roll please… Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! has “gone cardboard” (and tin)! Game-O-Gami’s very first game is now released and available world-wide. If you haven’t gotten yourself a copy of your own yet, you can order it online or ask for it at your friendly local game store. This marks a huge milestone for myself, for Game-O-Gami, and hopefully for happy families who are getting to play GDFR together! Official press release below.

– David

For Immediate Release

July 17, 2013; Las Vegas, NV

Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule!, the card game of rhyme and reason for kids of all ages, has gone from Kickstarter dream to retail reality. Developed by Game-O-Gami with publisher support from Game Salute, this charming and educational family game was successfully crowd-funded last year and is now available world-wide.

In Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule!, players put their rhyming and puzzle solving skills to the test as they compete to rid themselves of mischievous goblins and collect magical fairies. The game features innovative play mechanics by game industry veteran David Sanhueza, and beautiful illustrations by comic book artist Mike Maihack. GDFR is the culmination of David’s dream to create a game that children and adults can enjoy playing together.

The rulebook sets the appropriately whimsical mood by describing the setting, “For a long, long time, goblins and fairies have lived in a magical world right beneath our noses. If you look hard enough, you can find rings of mushrooms, called ‘fairy rings,’ which act as doors between their world and ours. Today, a gang of mischievous goblins escaped from the fairy ring, and it is up to you to send them back before they cause trouble! But an ancient spell of rhymes which transforms goblins into fairies and fairies into goblins makes this a trickier task than you might think…”

Gamers curious about Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! will be able to try-before-they-buy at the Gen Con Indy games convention. Gen Con, “the best four days in gaming”, will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, from August 15-18. Players can participate in demos of GDFR at the Game Salute booth in the exhibit hall.

Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! is now available directly from shop.GameSalute.com, Amazon.com, and your friendly local game store. More information about the game, including samples of the artwork, can be found on Game-O-Gami’s website: www.game-o-gami.com

The production process for Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! is running smoothly as we’re getting all of the Kickstarter backer rewards ready for printing. Today, we’d like to give GDFR! fans a sneak peak at the collector’s tin the game will come in. Below, you can see how the tin design is laid out for manufacturing. The bottom and the cover are laid out separately, each with their own distinct dimensions and guidelines. The solid rectangular lines with the rounded edges mark the flat surfaces of the top and bottom, while the dotted lines mark the bleed area for printing the fold-up sides.

Designing within the limitations of this format, making sure to pack in as much information as needed while maintaining the whimsical feeling of the game, was a very fun exercise!

In other news, Society6 is once again offering FREE worldwide shipping, from now through Sunday. So if you would like to pick up some Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! art prints with free shipping, visit GAME-O-GAMI’s store on Society6:

"Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule!' by David Luis Sanhueza

We did it. Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! met its funding goal and then some, because we picked the right partners: you. So much work and love have gone into this game. So much preparation for the campaign on Kickstarter, and so much diligence to keep it going. Hard work and loving attention are the basis of any worthwhile creative project. But for GDFR! to reach its full potential, it also needed a community of passionate believers who wanted it to exist. Thank you for being a part of our winning formula: Us + You = Win!

I would also like to extend my personal thanks to the team that made this project stand out from the crowd. To Chris and Cherilyn Kirkman for their effort and creativity in putting together the videos and the reward graphics, and for all their awesome advice. To Dan Yarrington for running a very smooth campaign, being the man with the answers, and for always pushing for top quality. And to Mike Maihack for making sure that the people who love his art would know exactly where they could get more of it. Also thanks to everyone who took the time to play the demo copies or print-and-play copies of GDFR! and write or record such amazing reviews.

Now that the mushy stuff is past us, here is some info about the project moving forward. The estimated delivery date for the game and rewards is December. If the production process goes extremely well, we might even be able to get them out before then. But even if we encounter a few hiccups that are common and inevitable in a first print run, our intention is to get your rewards to you before Christmas. The estimated delivery date for the Digital Rewards Bundle is August. This includes The Art of Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! book in PDF format, as well as a mass of desktop wallpapers for various screen sizes (including iPhone and Android), featuring artwork from the game. When the Bundle is ready, our Kickstarter backers will receive a message with instructions how to download it.

If you missed the Kickstarter campaign, or know other folks who did, fear not! You can pre-order Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! products from Game Salute. This includes the card game, the double-sided puzzle, and the art book, in any combination you choose. The Kickstarter campaign has completed, but the game development continues. We will be adding more updates over the next few months, including:

Team Goblin desktop wallpaper
Fan Page bundle
Updated rulebook with new game modes, a poem, and credits
Photos of the game and other rewards when we get them from the printers
…and more!

So please stay tuned to find out more about Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! and other upcoming GAME-O-GAMI games. Thank you for making this all possible! Sincerely,

– David
